Party in the Car

Dr. Condorodis

Winston and my Dr. who delivered him. He was super and I would highly recommend him;)

One Month Appointment

Winston had his one month appointment today. He weighed in at 10lbs 13oz. He's gained 3lbs since birth! Pretty impressive. He was at the 75th percentile for heighth and 60% for weight. Hep B shot today which is never fun;(

Making Chemistry and Whipped Cream Art

We got creative yesterday, first setting up water with food coloring and all the baking sprinkles, etc. Then moved on to whipped cream finger painting. It ended up as an experiment in how long they could restrain from eating it.

Adele's Ambulance

Adele gave us a bit of a scare today at Gymboree. We were shopping, Veda was watching TV and Adele was scaling the inside of the clothes racks (as usual). Sure enough, we hear a big thud and Adele is on the floor, head first. When she gets really worked up, sometimes she holds her breath. Well, this was one of those times and her eyes rolled back in her head and she passed out. We tell to the desk to call 911 and Kathy has her on the floor to start CPR. Before she starts, Adele wakes up and is crying. Even though they cancelled the call, the ambulance still showed up to check her out.

When we got home she snuggled up in a chair next to Veda and watched a movie (a very rare event). Veda even offered up her thumb for Adele to suck. I guess she assumed it was good for her, so it would make Adele feel better too. Nice sister.

Heaven

We got this baby wash as a gift from Tom and Abby. I've since bought the lotion too. I love cuddling with Winston after his bath - he smells so yummy. I always wondered why the three kings brought frankincence and myrrh to baby Jesus - now I know;)

One Month

Balance

I'm spending my precious free time these days planning for when I head back to work and have zero free time. We are trying to find a balance in our schedules and routine. As a result we have cut out Veda's afternoon naps. We were having a really hard time getting her to sleep before 10 each night and she was up well before the rest of us. She immediately started sleeping around 11 hours at night... that's when we can keep her up during the day. She pulled the pillow and blanket into the playroom and this is how I found her.

If you don't hear Adele...

you can assume she's up to no good...or just coloring her legs (down to the soles of her feet).

Movie Day

We ventured off to the movies yesterday with the whole crew to see "The secret society of Arriety". Veda is a seasoned pro, but Adele usually likes to run the aisles. Luckily there were only 4 other people at the 10am matinee. Proud to say we successfully made it through the full movie without any major outbursts - success! We even let the girls play video games at the end (Adele got to drive the motorcycle game).

Suckers

I've always wondered who the poor suckers are that pay for massively over-priced teddy bears at Build-a-Bear. Well, look no further. All it took was a little cabin fever and a $10 off coupon and we were on our way. A dog named "Love" for Veda and a koala named "Kuddles" for Adele.

Happy Valentines Day!

Veda and Adele are enjoying all of their Valentines presents... especially these sock monkeys from Auntie Kel. We will have a special Valentines pizza dinner and open the rest of their Valentines packages! They are also having parties at school and Veda chose princess Valentines for the girls and Justin "Beaver" Valentines for the boys;)

Underwear Party

Veda was in Adele's room with the door closed for about 5 min. She comes out and says "Adele asked me to put underwear on her". This might be plausible if Adele knew how to talk or even say underwear for that matter...

Journey 2...another so so movie

Veda filled up her sticker chart so as a reward she wanted to go to a movie. Lots of PG rated movies lately for me. Today, Duane "The Rock" Johnson headlined the movie, but Veda mainly wanted to go because the trailer showed a bee pooping on a guys head. We have high standards around here.

The Honeymoon is Over

 Enjoying the balmy winter weather with story time on the back step.

Didi trying to weigh Winston on the scale in the living room. We skipped his two week check up at the recommendation of his Dr. She said it wasn't worth it to bring him in to be weighed in the middle of flu season. She said she trusted that since I'm a third time Mom that I would know if he was eating enough and gaining weight. I don't have as much confidence in myself so we were trying to confirm he had packed on at least a pound. The scale says he's just over 8 lbs so we should be good.

 Winston is going to miss his snuggle buddy.

Didi leaves tonight and my four weeks of help is in the past. I'm enjoying my final hours on the couch snuggling little man and watching trashy reality TV.

"Blue Steel"

My good friend Katie paid us a visit and took these amazing photos of Winston. Kind of feeling guilty that I haven't had one professional picture taken of either of the girls. Now that the fam is complete I think it might be time for a photo shoot with all of us... after I shed the baby weight;)

New Friends

I'm sure glad the older kids in the neighborhood don't mind entertaining the girls because Veda is in heaven. KK is teaching Veda how to play games on her phone... good January outdoor fun.

Overheard

While Veda was watching me feed Winston... V: "Mom how does milk get in your tummy?"
Me: "When you have a baby your body makes milk"
V: Not satisfied with the simple answer, "Can you show me how it works on the computer?"

Sleeping Positions

Just when Adele got all of these mastered, along came Winston to kick her off to Redemption Island. Favorite positions for each child? Adele loves the 'neck scarf' - at dad's expense and Veda is pretty partial to 'Jazz Hands' - which everyone gets to enjoy...

Nana and Bull

Mom and Dad were here for two and a half weeks. We almost let them leave without getting a picture with all the Grandkids. Adele is especially sad that they are gone and keeps asking for Nanny and Bull.

Here goes nothing...

First day out of the house with all 3 kids. The first major obstacle was convincing Veda that her demotion to the 3rd row was actually an upgrade. Some questionable negotiating tactics and a little red pony buckled in the adjoining seat and we were off to Target. I might have also told her "if you don't get back there, we are taking Winston back to the hospital and giving him away". #NoShame

Overheard

I asked Veda to help me with the baby gate since I was holding Winston. "'Mom you can do it... get your head out of your button."

"Dad look! The giant meatball sign...we must be at IKEA"
