New Ride

We picked up this pretty little pink balance bike for Veda the other day. One of the little girls in the neighborhood (who is a year older than Veda but half her size) has been crusin' around on hers, so we thought this might be inspiration for Veda to do something that requires a little coordination. She's not really catching on but practice makes perfect... of course Adele is more interested in the bike than Veda and will probably be taking off as soon as her feet touch the ground.

Sticky Fingers

I was at the mall with the girls the other day. They were getting a bit cranky and we needed to waste some time before Todd was to meet us there for dinner. I went into survival mode and told Veda we could go buy a present. We went to Claire's where I spent a dumb amount of money on some Tinkerbell thing that she never even opened (so some other lucky child will be getting as a gift someday;).

I eventually decided we couldn't make it another 30 minutes until Dad got there so we terminated the mission and headed home. As I was loading the car I realized that Adele had picked out a present of her own;) Defeated and exhausted I opted to not do the right thing. Her heist would be coming home with us... plus they would probably make me buy it if I tried to return it to the store since it was covered in slobber!

Rock on!

Veda's teacher just sent this from her phone. Veda's school is having a chorus concert Wed night. I sure hope this is rehearsal for the performance!

Super secret machine

Veda was "working" with me up in my office this weekend and asked if she could use the contents of one of my drawers to make her secret machine. Here it is folks. I think she will be a rocket scientist.

When Adele sees Veda getting her nails clipped she runs over in excitement and picks her feet up and grunts. Veda isn't quite so enthusiastic.

The Hood

Thanks to my neighbor for snapping some pics at last Friday's neighborhood BBQ. This was movie time at the end of the night to get the kids to wind down.

Back to work tomorrow - blah!

We wrapped up the day yeterday with company for dinner. Todd's boss, his wife and three kids stopped by for a grillout. Veda was super excited to host "her friends."

We woke up this morning and headed to breakfast again and a stop at the outlet mall for the mega sales. Adele and Veda enjoyed the adventure and were both very helpful picking out clothes - and in the fitting rooms;)

We spent the rest of the day by the pool and rounded it out with Chinese Take-out and the Justin Bieber Documentary. I sobbed - seriously - I have issues. All in all it was a fabulous relaxing weekend!

Memorial Day Weekend

Started off with a big neighborhood cookout and Erin and Michael's Friday night. The camera battery died so no photos which is a shame because all seven kids (including Adele) were sitting nicely in a circle playing duck duck goose. Although it went something like this... "poopy head, potty head, poop." Nice huh?

Yesterday Todd and Veda got in a lot of sun at our pool and then the water park up at Lake Casitas where BJ and Melissa were camping with the kids. I have been battling a little stomach virus so Adele and I were holed up inside on what was probably the nicest day of the year. So depressing. Our kind thoughtful neighbors came over last night to watch the kids for a couple of hours so we could catch Hangover II. As raunchy as it promised to be, but plenty funny.

This morning we headed to the local airport for breakfast at the cafe and now Veda and Todd are off running errands while I sit with Dell while she naps. Lots of weekend left for fun and it's shaping up to be another sunny beautiful day.

Fun at the Park

We met some friends at our community park the other day. It was a warm day and the park has a sprinkler playground. All the other kids ran from the water... Adele ran into it and stood under the spray laughing. That's our Monster;)
