Veda had her first ever trip to the County Fair today in Ventura. The petting zoo was definitely the highlight of the trip. There was a couple pot belly pigs, some minature deer, several curious goats and one giant llama who apparently eats shirts! Oh, and 2 ducks, which Veda definitely recognized from her books.Beyond that, there wasn't too much that impressed the crew. Just a lot of smelly carnie folks and everything fried you can possible imagine. The most inventive award goes to the Southwest Smoke Company who has apparently perfected the process of chocolate covered bacon...Still, this hardly compares to the old classics: the footlong corn dog and the 4lb Turkey leg, (of which I had one of each)...mmm!
We only lasted for about 2 hrs, but it was a good time. Unfortunately we missed out on the pig races and the chicken/bunny costume contest (no, not humans dressing up, but rather people dressing up their pet rabbit & chickens, sweet!)
Todd (filling in for a tired Kathy).
